About Us
Meir Shalev High School, also known as Municipal High School “Kaf-Heh,” is a public secondary school located in central Tel Aviv–Yafo, Israel.
The school operates under the supervision of the Israeli Ministry of Education and the Tel Aviv–Yafo Municipality.
Meir Shalev High School opened on September 1, 2025, as a growing secondary school, beginning with Grade 7. Each year, an additional grade level will be added, until the school reaches its full six-year capacity, serving students in Grades 7–12.
The school is named after the Israeli author Meir Shalev and places a strong emphasis on culture, society, and the humanities.
Our educational model is based on collaboration with urban institutions and learning spaces throughout the city. As part of this approach, students participate in learning activities both within the school and in external locations, including Beit Ariela Library, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the municipal velodrome, and other cultural and technological spaces.
The school’s educational approach emphasizes place-based learning, curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and meaningful engagement with the city and its communities.
Meir Shalev High School is led by Principal Karni Arad, an educator with over 15 years of experience in the Israeli public education system in Tel Aviv–Yafo. He has served in a range of educational leadership roles, including homeroom teacher, grade coordinator, and leader of innovative pedagogy. He previously led the middle school at Municipal High School Yud-Dalet and served as principal of HaYovel School.
